Biography
Attorney Christopher A. Ott has extensive experience representing clients on a wide range of domestic and international legal matters. He represents Fortune 50 companies and governments on highly complex legal transactions, and provides strategic/political counsel to international corporate and government clients. His substantive legal experience includes structuring multiple transactions exceeding a billion dollars in private sector investments, and work involving multi-billion dollar government procurement and development contracts. He has over two decades of experience negotiating and drafting private sector and government contracts, structuring debt and equity investments, intellectual property ownership rights, establishing investment terms and conditions, and addressing a range of other legal issues related to highly complex transactions.
While not limited to these areas, he focuses his work on clients in the defense and security industries, the financial services industries, and the biotechnology and high-technology industries. Mr. Ott’s work also includes representing clients before the U.S. Congress and the Executive Branch agencies, including the Department of Defense, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Justice, the Department of State, the Treasury Department, and the Department of Commerce. Mr. Ott’s prior military experience includes over three years with the Caribbean Law Enforcement Intelligence Center while serving with the U.S. Coast Guard. Mr. Ott earned his law degree (cum laude) in 1999 from Saint Louis University School of Law, where he was a Dean´s Scholar and the Executive Managing Editor of the Transatlantic Law Journal. In addition to his Juris Doctorate, Mr. Ott holds degrees in engineering and philosophy.
Mr. Ott is admitted to practice in the State of Maryland, Washington, D.C., and the State of Missouri.
